Public Housing

Overview

This HUD-funded program is the largest component of Wilmington Housing Authority’s (WHA) operation and provides over 2,000 units of housing to over 3,800 families and individuals. Units are provided in high-rise buildings, multi-unit developments and individual houses and units.

Admission

Eligibility for public housing is based on income, with most residents paying 30% of their adjusted gross income toward rent. Applications are accepted at the Leasing office at 1800 N Broom St.
